President’s Message – May 2015

Dear Members,

The beginning of May marked our biennial state convention. Thank you to all the members who participated in the convention. This year the focus of the convention was on an analysis of our continued relationship with NFRW. There will be more news to come on that front and invitations for you to participate in conversations regarding the same. Congratulations to our members Christine Hill and Marilyn Stewart who will serve on the AFRW Board for the next year.

Several of our members worked very hard on the Mayor’s campaign, and while we are disappointed by the outcome, we are very proud of our member Amy Demboski and all the hard work she put into her campaign, along with several other members of our club. We must continue to work hard for our community.

I am sad to report that two of our members have submitted their resignation to the Board, as they endeavor new adventures in their lives. Elizabeth Helgelien and Portia Watson will be greatly missed! Lindsay Williams has graciously agreed to step up as Vice President pending confirmation next week by the Board. Thank you Lindsay! Be sure and thank Elizabeth and Portia for all their work and wish them well!

We have some exciting things ahead for summer, we will keep you posted. Be sure not to miss out!

Thank you for your continued support,
